The Midwest Salute to the Arts does not require a commission on sales. Artists are responsible for collecting and reporting Illinois Sales Tax (forms provided).
Artists are required to be present with their work during festival hours.
The Midwest Salute to the Arts is a rain or shine show. All exhibits are housed in large white tents on grass in a beautiful park setting. Covered aisle space is provided in front of each booth for the comfort of our many patrons.
BY CITY ORDINANCE PETS ARE NOT
PERMITTED IN THE PARK
.
Individual display areas are approximately 10' x 10'. Limited electrical power (1000 watts) is provided for each space. Artists are responsible for their own display and lighting equipment which must conform to space and power allotments mentioned previously.

Screen Displays:

Original art is to comprise a minimum of 2/3 of screen displays.
Hand pulled prints are considered original art and may be displayed on screens.
No more than 1/3 of screen displays may feature signed reproductions, and all reproductions must be clearly labeled as such.
All work displayed on screen will be appropriately framed or otherwise prepared for finished presentation.

Unframed, signed/unsigned reproductions may be sold, but will be displayed in portfolios (not on screens) and clearly labeled as reproductions. Notecards, calendars, books and other items created from the artist's own work may be offered. Mechanically reproduced art should be limited to no more than 50% of total display.
All work offered must be original by the exhibiting artist. No kits or work from kits are acceptable. Plagiarism, production line art or art factory reproduced items (other than noted above) are grounds for immediate removal from the show.
We reserve the right to use jury slides for publicity and ask that you please include a photo of your work and a brief resume.

Our Children's Gallery and Workshops are designed to foster an interest in art at an early age. Children 11 and under enter the Children's Gallery then choose their own piece of art free from parental influence and often come back to you for conversation with "their own artist".
All artists exhibiting at the Salute are required to donate a minimum of two pieces of their work to our Children's Gallery. Please plan now how you will meet this requirement. If you have only large pieces, we recommend that you create something smaller for this purpose. Studies, experimental pieces, etc. may be acceptable if presented nicely. This is a very important part of our festival.
One of the two pieces received from artists is displayed each morning, and the gallery is usually forced to close by early afternoon. (If you can donate more than the minimum, your help will be most appreciated.)
With the exception of these items no additional solicitations will be sought of you during this event.
