The Midwest Salute to the Arts Prevue Party has become one of the brightest jewels in our crown. We are very proud of our landmark event that boasts a relaxed garden party atmosphere offering the members of our community the opportunity to view displays, purchase art and socialize with our artists. Our Prevue Party is held on Friday evening before the hustle and bustle of the actual art fair begins. Admission is by ticket only so be sure to pre-purchase yours as tickets are not sold at the gate.

Often, when we think of art, the more popular mediums such as oil, watercolor, photography and sculpture come to mind. The Midwest Salute to the Arts would like to acknowledge another art that is frequently left off the list, the culinary arts. Back by popular demand is our Fifth Annual Best of Fairview Heights competition to be held at the Prevue Party 2007. Participating restaurants from Fairview Heights and the surrounding area will be judged by three local culinary professionals. Prizes will be awarded in five categories: Best Appetizer, Best Entrée, Best “Good Food Fast,” Best Dessert and Best Presentation. In addition to the fine foods that will be available for all to enjoy, wine, beer and soft drinks will be available at a nominal charge. Please join us and experience the delightful tastes that our Fairview Heights culinary artists have to offer.

No garden party would be complete without music to create the right ambiance. Lakeshore Quartette will be performing outside the gate from 6:00 to 8:00 while the Wild, Cool, and Swinging band enticing dancing under the stars.
